Healing Through Support Groups

We offer support groups for people of all genders and identities. Our groups are mutual-help, peer-based spaces where participants are encouraged to take an active role in their own healing journey. Being part of a group can help restore a sense of power and control that may have been taken during the assault.

We currently offer both an adult support group and a teen support group, creating age-appropriate spaces where participants can connect with others who share similar life experiences. Each group is led by trained, experienced staff who provide structure, guidance, and a safe, supportive environment.

Women’s Support Group at Crow Wing County Jail

SAS offers a dedicated adult women’s group within the Crow Wing County Jail, designed to provide support, education, and empowerment. This group focuses on raising awareness about healthy relationships, personal safety, and coping strategies while creating a safe space for participants to share experiences and build resilience. By combining education with emotional support, the program helps women navigate challenges, gain resources, and connect with community services, fostering healing and personal growth even while in a correctional setting.

Before joining, individuals may meet with facilitators to learn more about the group, talk about personal goals, and ensure the group feels like the right fit. Our groups are free and confidential, and are available to survivors as well as supportive loved ones. For more information or to find out which group may be right for you, please contact our office at 218-828-0494.
