Community Based Education Efforts

We work to increase community awareness and strengthen the response to sexual violence.

We help community members learn how to support victim-survivors, understand the broader impact sexual violence has on the entire community, and recognize the role each of us can play in prevention and accountability.

We provide educational presentations and trainings for professionals, system partners, undergraduate students, service providers, and any group interested in deepening their understanding and becoming part of the solution.

To increase accessibility, our outreach staff also offer drop-in advocacy services at local residential and community-based facilities.

One of our key drop-in programs is the Breaking Bread and Building Awareness at Lighthouse Beginnings, offered on an alternating schedule every Monday and Thursday. This program provides a welcoming space for community members to connect, receive support, and learn more about preventing and responding to sexual violence.
